Dr Guan Ye, Dr Peter Semaan and Dr Isabella Liu are trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating skin cancer. You can book a full body skin cancer check with them online.

If you are concerned about melanoma or another form of skin cancer, a melanoma check in Brighton may involve your doctor assessing the area of concern as well as considering factors such as changes to the spot and your individual risk factors. Further investigation, monitoring, treatment or referral may be recommended depending on the findings.
For a skin check, our normal time-based fees apply. For a full skin check, please select "Full Body Skin Check" as the appointment type. This will usually require a long consultation, so the fee is $197.10, with a Medicare rebate of $87.10.
What Does a Full Body Skin Cancer Check Involve?
A full body skin check gives your doctor an opportunity to assess your skin for spots or lesions that may require closer examination.
Your GP may ask about your personal and family history of skin cancer, previous sun exposure, sunburn and any moles or spots you have noticed changing. Your skin is then examined, including areas that can be difficult to check yourself.
If a lesion requires further assessment, your doctor will explain the recommended next steps. Depending on the individual finding, this may include monitoring, biopsy, treatment or referral.
If you have a particular mole or lesion that concerns you, make sure you point it out during your appointment rather than waiting for your doctor to find it during the examination.
When Should You Have a Mole or Spot Checked?
Knowing what is normal for your skin can make it easier to notice changes.
Consider arranging a skin or mole review if you notice a spot that is new, changing in size, shape or colour, or behaving differently from your other moles. Other changes such as bleeding, crusting, itching or a sore that does not heal should also be discussed with a doctor.
The frequency of professional skin checks varies from person to person. Your GP can discuss your individual skin cancer risk and advise whether regular professional checks may be appropriate for you.
Skin and Mole Reviews
Our Brighton doctors can review a concerning mole or lesion, including a spot that you have previously been advised to have reviewed again after a period of monitoring.
Where possible, a follow-up appointment should be booked with the same GP who reviewed the mole or lesion previously. This can help with continuity when assessing whether a spot has changed over time.
If you notice a new or changing lesion between planned reviews, you do not need to wait until your next routine appointment to seek medical advice.
Skin Cancer Doctors in Brighton
North Brighton Medical is a general practice rather than a dedicated dermatology or standalone skin cancer clinic. However, selected GPs provide full body skin cancer checks, assessment of suspicious lesions and skin cancer treatment within the practice.
This means patients looking for a skin cancer doctor in Brighton can discuss their skin concerns in the context of their broader health and medical history. Where specialist assessment is appropriate, your GP can also discuss referral options with you.
Our GP services extend beyond skin health, allowing patients to access ongoing general practice and preventative healthcare through the same clinic.
